Introducing local recycling charity - Ideas2Action

The Waste Group are excited to introduce local recycling charity Ideas2Action

Ideas2Action run community recycling projects across Poole & Bournemouth, saving waste that would usually be thrown away and diverting it to charities who can recycle/reuse the items as part of their fundraising.

The items on their 'We Need That!' list are usually thrown away, including plastic milk bottle tops, corks, aerosol cans and even biscuit wrappers! They are also looking for stamps and wrapping paper; particularly abundant at this time of year.

Save room in your bin, donate to Ideas2Action and help other local charities!

Ideas2Action's current "We Need That!" recycling directory includes:

  • Calendars with animal pictures (WWF Poole Volunteer Group)
  • Christmas wrapping paper - flat (as above)
  • Novelties from Christmas crackers (Dorset Scrapstore)
  • Corks (Dorset Scrapstore)
  • Ring pulls from drinks cans (Purple Community Fund)
  • All empty packaging of Garnier beauty products (Ideas2Action)
  • Tassimo coffee discs & packaging  (Poole Hospital Scanner Appeal)
  • Stamps (Naomi House)
  • Aerosol deodorant cans (Ideas2Action)
  • Milk bottle tops (Gift of Sight)
  • Biscuit wrappers - any make or variety of sweet biscuit (Ideas2Action)
  • Empty/broken pens, biros, felt tips, highlighters, board markers, mechanical pencils or empty tip-ex bottles (Research into Brain Tumours)
  • Cleaning product items: pumps, sprays, disinfectant wipe packets and washing up liquid tops (Ideas2Action)

These waste items can be easily donated to Ideas2Action at one of their Win on Waste Events
